Frequently Asked Tri-Fold Cushion Questions

Which foam is best for Indoor Tri-Fold Cushions?

Tri-fold cushions are often purchased for occasional use. If this is the case for you, we recommend our less-expensive Econoflex™ foam. If your tri-fold cushion will get everyday use, then we recommend our Everflex™ foam.

Should I order dacron (polyester) batting for my tri-fold cushions?

Dacron wrap is purely optional for tri-fold and bi-fold cushions. Dacron batting is primarily to give a cushion a fuller look, so if your tri-fold cushion doesn’t need that, you can forego dacron wrap. If you do want the fuller look and extra comfort that dacron provides, we’d suggest a bookwrap treatment for a tri-fold cushion as the spaces where the cushions join together don’t need a wrap.

How thick should tri-fold cushions be?

There is no rule-of-thumb for the thickness of a tri-fold cushion. The appropriate thickness depends on how you’ll use the cushion, and how often it will be used. If your tri-fold cushion is being used as a sleeping surface, we’d generally recommend a minimum of two inches of a firmer foam like our Everflex V54 or Econoflex C55. For a bit more sleeping comfort in a tri-fold, we’d recommend 3–4 inches of our Everflex V44 or Econoflex C33. If you need further guidance, our friendly Customer Service team is a great source of exper advice.

Just like new.
“Replaced the saggy old cushions in our 2003 American Leather sofa and loveseat. I think we paid $7000 for the pair back then. The leather is still perfect, but the cushions were flattened and the down filled wrap had torn and was leaking feathers everywhere. we went couch shopping and found that to buy couches of similar quality, it would cost us almost $20k. Yikes! Decided to give cushion replacement a try, but couldn't find a local upholstery shop that wanted the job. Jumped on Google and found foamorder.com. The cushions were pretty pricey for foam and feathers (About $1000 for 5 large cushions). Super easy to order, turnaround in 3 weeks or so. After vacuuming feathers for hours, we got the couches reassembled and they look and feels like new again! We saved $12k with a little bit of effort on our part, We couldn't be more satisfied!
