Our replacement cushions for outdoor furniture are made from high-quality, open-cell (reticulated) outdoor foam that will withstand the elements and last for 10 years or more with regular use. We offer three firmness options for maximum comfort — medium, medium-firm and firm Outdoor Foam. The high-density foam measures 1.8 lb./ft.³, which means it provides more support and takes much longer to permanently compress than the 1.2 lb./ft.³ foam many manufacturers use.
In addition, we offer a broad selection of durable weather- and stain-resistant Sunbrella® fabrics to customize your patio look. This fashionable material adds protection and is custom-sewn. FoamOrder.com also offers natural hemp fabric, and if you send us your own fabric, we will turn it into a cover. Skip this step if you just need the foam to switch out from the old cushion.

Patio furniture must be able to withstand all elements — rain, snow and sun. When looking for outdoor replacement cushions, you may notice that many suppliers use polyester pillow fiber for their outdoor cushions. We recommend Dacron batting for indoor or outdoor patio cushions, generally with a book wrap. Dacron batting gives patio furniture cushions a full, comfortable and rounded look. Without Dacron, your patio cushions may show wrinkles in the fabric. Dacron provides an additional layer of comfortable padding between the foam and cover, making your patio cushions as comfortable as possible. If you really don’t want batting, then order your foam slightly thicker (¼-inch to ½-inch) than the case to make sure it fills in as much as possible.
Outdoor furniture can often be tricky as it must balance the features of being able to dry quickly while still maximizing comfort. First, outdoor cushions need to drain moisture and liquid from rain and dew quickly and fully. If your outdoor cushions don’t drain properly, they will quickly get moldy or build up mildew. In addition, your outdoor cushions should be just as comfortable as your indoor cushions despite using materials that drain properly. To properly make comfortable outdoor furniture cushions, you should always use reticulated (also known as dry-fast) foam, which has large “pores” to easily drain rain water and other moisture.
