Ottoman cushions often have unique foam needs. Some are used for sitting, requiring softer foam for a comfortable seat, while others are used primarily as a footrest and can use a firmer foam. At Foamorder, we offer three firmness options for outdoor foam, as well as a variety of indoor foams if your ottoman won’t be exposed to the elements. We can help you determine the best foam type for your outdoor ottoman seating. We’ve been doing this for over 20 years, and our easy-to-use website can walk you through how to properly measure, select the right foam, and (if needed) the right fabric for your outdoor ottoman. We offer a wide range of durable Sunbrella® fabrics that can endure the sun and weather that your cushions might encounter. If you need additional help, our friendly experts in customer service can help you get the right outdoor ottoman cushion for your home.
Don’t see the shape you need? No problem. Just choose “Pattern Shape” to make your own pattern and send it to us to cut to your exact pattern specifications.
If your ottoman will be used primarily as a footrest, you can use our firm outdoor foam. If you will be using your outdoor ottoman for seating as well, we’d recommend medium firmness (as long as your cushion is between 3 and 5 inches thick). For 2-inch thickness, we’d recommend firm foam for your ottoman. If your ottoman is in a screened-in or covered porch and won’t be directly exposed to the elements, you can also consider our traditional polyurethane foams, or our organic latex foam.
An ottoman is one place where a dacron wrap is truly optional. Dacron batting is primarily to give a cushion a fuller look, so if your outdoor ottoman doesn’t need that, you can forego the polyester wrap. If you do want the fuller look and extra comfort that dacron provides, we’d suggest a “wrap all sides" treatment for an ottoman cushion, or to put dacron only on the top and bottom of the ottoman cushion.
