PRODUCT INFORMATION

Name:

Code Red II, Combustion Inhibitive Foam

QUALITY

Specially modified polymers introduced into the foam formulation process creates Code Red II combustion inhibitive foam, which flex fatigue tests show is more durable that competitive products. Code Red II incorporates a higher percentage of polymer (versus melamine) which provides more actual "working foam." This unique formulation gives Code Red II superior tear, tensile, and elongation properties, which make it easier to handle and better suited for use in upholstered furniture. In addition, dynamic flex fatigue tests demonstrate that Code Red II's load-bearing characteristics (support factor = 2.6+) help prevent "bottoming out."

A major environmental advantage for Code Red II is the fact that no ozone-depleting chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are used in its manufacturing process.

SAFETY

California Technical Bulletin 133 is the model for contract furniture standards in many states. And Code Red II is the preferred choice when selecting components for products designed to pass Cal.133. Since Cal.133 is a composite test and not a component test, no supplier can certify that its combustion modified foam will pass in every configuration of foam, fabric, and styling. However, Code Red II will pass in constructions where many other foams will fail.

Code Red II also passes the requirements of the Boston Fire Prevention Code and New York/New Jersey Port Authority, both of which now accept California 133 as a qualification standard. Code Red II exceeds the requirements of many other flammability tests (see table below) including the Crib 5 test of the BS 5852: Part 2, a standard for residential upholstered furniture in Great Britain. When combined with the standard fabric, Code Red II also will satisfy the tougher Crib 7 test for UK contract and institutional furnishings.

Yet despite all the advantages that have made it the industry standard for high risk/high exposure products, Code Red II remains the best value in flame retardant foam today. When you need the ultimate combination of safety, durability, comfort and value, call on Code Red II flame retardant foam. Anything less is a risk you can't afford to take.
