At FoamOrder, we intentionally offer options with fewer chemical additives to support our commitment to natural and organic materials. Some of these options do not include the flame-retardant chemicals necessary to comply with federal flammability standards (16 CFR Parts 1632 and 1633).

1. How long does a polyurethane foam mattress last?

The lifespan depends on the foam type, use, and care:

• Everflex Foam – 8–12 years with daily use; up to 15–20 years with lighter use
• Econoflex Foam – 4–6 years with daily use; up to 10 years with lighter use

To maximize longevity, rotate the mattress periodically, use a breathable protector, and store it in a dry, well-ventilated area.

2. Does a polyurethane foam mattress off-gas or have an odor?

Yes, there may be a mild odor at first (known as off-gassing). Our CertiPUR-US® certified foam emits low VOCs and is free from formaldehyde, ozone depleters, and harmful flame retardants. The scent is non-toxic and typically fades within a few days in a well-ventilated room.

Because firmness depends on three variables: foam thickness, the foam’s firmness rating, and the sleeper’s weight. For example, a thinner mattress may feel pleasantly firm to a lighter-bodied individual but feel less supportive to someone with a heavier build.

We ask for a weight range so we can recommend the right foam configuration and thickness to match your preferred feel—helping us tailor your mattress so it meets your comfort and support goals.

Warranty

Shipping: Custom-cut polyurethane foam mattresses typically ship within 3–14 days, depending on foam type and production cycle. We rotate through different foams weekly, which may affect timing slightly. If your order exceeds this window, contact us at FoamOrder Customer Support.

Returns: Returns are accepted within 90 days of purchase, minus the original shipping cost.
