Our polyester dacron wrap is a versatile cushioning layer used to give foam cushions a smooth, full, and finished look. Wrapped around the foam core, it softens edges, helps covers slide on more easily, and reduces fabric wrinkling or bunching over time.
Dacron wrap is commonly used for seat and back cushions, pillows, benches, and other upholstery projects where you want a plush, rounded appearance instead of the sharper lines of bare foam. It is easy to cut, position, and attach, making it suitable for both professional upholstery shops and DIY projects.
Choose from flat sheets or continuous rolls in multiple widths so you can order exactly what you need, whether you are wrapping a single cushion or outfitting an entire room of seating.

Installation Tips:
Wrapping foam cushions in dacron helps improve both appearance and comfort. The dacron layer rounds off sharp edges, fills out the corners of your cushion covers, and reduces the chance of the foam texture showing through the fabric. It also makes it easier to slide cushions into their covers and can help covers wear more evenly over time.
Sheets are a good choice if you are working on a small number of cushions, pillows, or craft projects and want minimal waste. They are easy to handle on a table and simple to cut to size.
Rolls are better for longer cushions, benches, or larger upholstery projects where you need continuous coverage and prefer to work from a single, consistent length of material.
Many upholsterers use a light, even coat of spray adhesive on the foam to help the dacron stay in place while the cushion is inserted into the cover. Apply adhesive sparingly so the wrap can still be adjusted and smoothed as needed. After wrapping, trim any excess material so the cushion slides into the cover without bunching.
As a general guideline, you will need enough width to cover the face, back, and sides of the cushion, plus a bit of overlap to wrap around the edges. For most standard seat cushions, one cushion typically uses a piece slightly larger than the cushion dimensions on all sides so it can wrap around and overlap on the back or underside. For multiple cushions or long benches, rolls make it easier to keep coverage continuous.
Polyester dacron is a synthetic fiber fill commonly used in upholstery, pillows, and bedding. It does not contain natural allergens like feathers or down. Many customers find it to be a practical choice for everyday use, but if you have specific sensitivities, you may wish to consult with a medical professional or test a small project first.
